Rungvisai vs Estrada Live

Rungvisai vs Estrada Live Free Access

HBO’s Harold Lederman breaks down his brief thoughts on this weekend’s card featuring some of the best super flyweights out there…

“February 24th we have SuperFly 2, Srisaket Sor Rungvisai, 115-pound champion is one of the really, really good fighters in boxing. First time he won a very close decision over ‘Chocolatito’ Gonzalez at Madison Square Garden, when ‘Chocolatito’ was considered the number one pound-for-pound fighter in the world.

“The second time Srisaket Sor Rungvisai fought ‘Chocolatitio’ Gonzalez he knocked him out in the fourth round. Sensational. Srisaket Sor Rungvisai is absolutely one of the best fighters in the world, but he’s fighting a guy who you could consider one of the best fighters in the world in Juan Francisco Estrada.

“We saw Juan Francisco Estrada recently when he beat Carlos Cuadras in a fight that all three judges scored 114-113 for Estrada. You know, they all had it by one point. It was that close. Carlos Cuadras is taking on McWilliams Arroyo, you know, a kid on the way up from Puerto Rico. I don’t think McWilliams Arroyo is gonna go the distance with Carlos Cuadras. Carlos Cuadras is just too good. Absolutely one of the best fighters in the world as well.

“So here we have three fighters at 115 pounds who are three of the best fighters in the world: Srisaket Sor Rungvisai, definitely; Juan Francisco Estrada, absolutely; and Carlos Cuadras. So it’s gonna be a very, very interesting night of boxing, for sure.”

Smith vs Holzken Live

Smith was already odds-on favourite to beat Braehmer, and now he is facing unheralded Dutchman Nieky Holzken, his odds have shrunk still further.

Being a tournament bracket, there was no time to wait for Braehmer to recover and the unbeaten, but untested, Holzken steps in for a shot at making the final.

George Groves awaits the winner, but as he struggles with the dislocated shoulder sustained in beating Chris Eubank Jr, the state of the WBSS final remains in flux.

When is Smith vs Holzken?

The fight is on Saturday, February 24 at the Arena Nurnberger Versicherung in Nuremberg, Germany with the ringwalk of the main event expected at 10pm.

What TV channel is Smith vs Holzken on?

Canada vs Germany Live

Canada vs Germany Live Free

Canada’s path to the gold-medal game at the Olympic men’s hockey tournament looks easy – but the Canadians would be wise not to discount their semifinal opponent. The defending champions are overwhelming favourites for Friday’s encounter with a Germany side that sent shockwaves through the competition with a 4-3 overtime win over Sweden. Canada earned its way into the final four with a tightly-contested 1-0 triumph over Finland.

The Canadians pulled out the win over Finland, but it came with a cost as starting netminder Ben Scrivens was forced from the crease in the second period due to injury. Poulin stopped all 15 shots he faced the rest of the way, and will likely get the call against the Germans if Scrivens is unable to go. Canada should be in good hands regardless of who is between the pipes, having allowed just three regulation goals through its first four games of the tournament.

Canada’s offensive production, on the other hand, might be a minor cause for concern. After scoring just four goals in a win over host South Korea – a total many experts believed would be much higher – the Canadians finished with a 30-21 shots advantage Wednesday but could only put one puck past Finnish netminder Mikko Koskinen. Another subpar offensive showing Friday, and Canada could find itself playing for bronze instead of gold.

Being the underdog has suited Germany just fine; after pulling out a 2-1 win over Switzerland in the qualifying round, the Germans broke out to a 3-1 lead over Sweden, watched that lead disappear in regulation, then completed the upset on Patrick Reimer’s overtime goal. Beating Sweden for the first time in international competition was impressive enough – but now the Germans will need to upend a Canadian side that is 27-1-1 against them all-time.

Germany hasn’t produced much offence to date, scoring just 10 goals through five games; Patrick Hager is the only German player with multiple goals entering the semifinal. In goal, Danny Aus Den Birken will likely be tasked with stopping the Canadian attack. The 33-year-old, who stars for Munich EHC of the Deutsche Eishockey League, has posted a 2.43 goals-against average and a .904 save percentage in four starts in Pyeongchang.

Czech Republic vs Russia Live

The Czech Republic is two wins away from the gold medal in the men’s hockey tournament at the 2018 Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, thanks to a dramatic quarterfinal win over the United States.

The Czech Republic is yet to lose in these Olympics and was in control for extended stretches of Tuesday’s contest despite the nail-biting finish. It enjoyed a 29-20 advantage in shots on goal, per NBC Olympics, and Jan Kolar (first period) and Tomas Kundratek (second period) each capitalized on those shots with goals.

Ryan Donato added another goal for the Americans, while Jim Slater scored the final goal of regulation in the second period, which ultimately forced overtime after a stalemate in the third.

This quarterfinal marked a clash of styles, as Scott Charles of NBC Sports described. The Americans—which had to beat Slovakia just to have the opportunity to face a fresh Czech Republic side—use “several speedy forwards in order to play an uptempo style, while the Czechs look to clog up the neutral zone and slow things down.”

It looked as if the Americans would set the tone with their style of play when Donato’s lighting-quick flick of the wrist broke the scoreless tie. Francouz was essentially helpless, considering he was screened by his own defenders, as Donato continued his Olympic dominance with his fifth goal of the Games.

The United States advanced to the gold medal game by defeating Finland 5–0 in the semifinal.

Canada beat the Olympic Athletes from Russia 5–0 in the semifinal on Monday morning.

After a group stage mired in inconsistency, this is exactly what the U.S. men’s hockey team needed.

Ryan Donato tacked on two more goals, college counterpart Troy Terry assisted on three and, at long last, their veteran teammates chipped in as the Americans scored more goals Monday in a 5-1 win over Slovakia than they did the entire Olympic tournament. The overdue offensive explosion couldn’t have come at a better time as the U.S. advances to face the Czech Republic in the quarterfinal round at Pyeongchang.

The jury was out on whether Team USA has enough talent to compete for a medal. In three preliminary round games, they scored a combined four goals, including a baffling upset at the hands of Slovenia and a shutout by the Olympic Athletes from Russia.

Donato, a 21-year-old Harvard product, has been Team USA’s best offensive weapon. His goal 1:36 into the second period snapped the U.S. out of a scoreless slump that spanned five periods. He added another for good measure with 3:14 to play in the game, bringing his Olympic total to four — all against Slovakia.

In between, the Americans finally received offensive support from someone over 21 years of age. Goals by James Wisniewski and Mark Arcobello put the U.S. ahead 3-0.

Terry, at 20 the youngest member of Team USA, assisted on all three goals in the second period. And Garrett Roe’s marker 9:52 into the third period was the result of pretty passing from Broc Little to Brian O’Neill, a much-needed contribution from a lower line.

NBA All Star 2018 Live

The NBA All-Star game takes place tomorrow night but this evening sees some of the league’s best stars take on the dunk contest and three-point challenge to prove who is the best.

The night begins with the Taco Bell Skills Challenge before Eric Gordon aims to defend his title in the three-point challenge.

To do so, he will have to beat former champion Klay Thompson and he is also joined by fellow All-Stars Bradley Beal, Paul George and Kyle Lowry.

The Phoenix Suns’ Devin Booker, Miami Heat’s Wayne Ellington and the LA Clippers’ Tobias Harris make up the rest of the field.

That will be swiftly followed by the dunk contest as Dennis Smith Jr, Donovan Mitchell, Victor Oladipo and Larry Nance Jr look to show off their skill-set.

Daytona 500 Live Online

NASCAR hasn’t seen a repeat champion of the Daytona 500 in 23 years, but Kurt Busch will try to change that on Sunday afternoon at Daytona International Speedway in the opening race of the 2018 season (2:30 p.m. ET, Fox, Fox Sports Go).

Fox will broadcast the race with Mike Joy on play-by-play and analysis from Darrell Waltrip and Jeff Gordon. Online streaming will be provided in English and Spanish by Fox Sports Go.

“The prestige, history and value of that race and just being part of it over the years was special,” Busch said last week. “Now to go back there as the defending champion of the Daytona 500 gives me that much more motivation to do it again and make sure nobody shares in all the glory.”

To repeat at Daytona, Busch will have to overcome youngsters like Alex Bowman, who won the pole position in his first race taking over the No. 88 car from the retired Dale Earnhardt Jr., and Chase Elliott, who will start in the second row in fourth position.Denny Hamlin, the 2016 Daytona 500 winner, starts in second position on Sunday.

Ortiz vs Alexander Live

Tomorrow night’s PBC on FOX card is ready, as Victor Ortiz and Devon Alexander made weight for the show from El Paso, Texas, though there was one fighter who had trouble on the scales.

Ortiz (32-6-2, 25 KO) and Alexander (27-4, 14 KO) meet in a pivotal welterweight main event, scheduled for 12 rounds. The two fighters both desperately need the win to stay in the mix at 147, and they both looked in good shape ahead of the fight.

Ortiz came in at 146.4 pounds, with Alexander just north of that at 146.6, both under the limit.

In the super middleweight co-feature, Rogelio “Porky” Medina (38-8, 32 KO) missed weight for his IBF eliminator against Caleb Plant (16-0, 10 KO), but the fight will go on. Plant weighed in at a ready 166.8 pounds, but Medina came in heavy at 168.8, nearly a pound over the limit. The IBF’s No. 2 ranking is on the line for Plant, but not for Medina, even if he wins.

Here is what the fighters had to say from House of Blues at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas on Wednesday:

“I’m just hungry for this fight. At the end of the day I have the passion for boxing, and I love the competition. That’s what motivates me and that’s what has motivated me to get back in there and get back on top. It all starts on Saturday night.

“I can’t worry about what [Brandon] is doing. At the end of the day I know he trained his heart out for this fight and this is an opportunity of a lifetime for him. This is a big fight for me. I have to go in there and show that I’m one of the best fighters in the world. I just have to go in there and be Danny Garcia.

“It’s great to be back here in Vegas. This is a big-fight atmosphere and it just motivates me. I feel good and I can’t wait to go in there and fight.

“I’m going to do a little bit of everything, it just depends how I feel. I’m gonna bang, I’m gonna box. I’m going to back him up. I’m going to do everything.

“I try to knock everyone out in the first round. I’ll go and get that check. Twelve rounds or less. I’d like to get it done in under eight or six. But if not I’ll go 12 rounds. I have a great team and I’ve been training hard.

“I don’t blame Keith Thurman for not wanting to fight me again. I wouldn’t want to fight me two times in row. My journey and my superstardom start again on Saturday night. My job then is to show the work and that I’m still one of the superstars of this sport.

“I’m 29 years old and in the prime of my career. It starts now. I’m ready to get back on track.
